Pineapple Pass is at the top of Great Scott Bowl - a pass between the Denny Creek drainage and the Source Lake drainage.  Most people refer to the whole area at the top of the bowl as Pineapple Pass, but the pass itself is actually the tiny notch right next to the Tooth, named a long time ago by early climbers.

Here is the area from several different aerial vantage points.

You can hike up Great Scott Bowl, but nobody does that.  The most common way to get there is to take the Great Scott Traverse out to Piss Pass, and from there, hike straight up to the summit of Point 5456' on Denny Mountain (500').  From there, hop over the ridge to the backside, and traverse your way to Pineapple Pass and back to the front side.  Don't forget that part, or you'll end up at milepost 50 on I-90.
