As you can see, there is alot of terrain on the backside of the mountain, most of it hard to get to.  The top of Edelweiss Bowl has a pass that leads to the backside, but cliffs prevent you from getting down to the right or straight down.  The only way down from that pass is to traverse left over the cliffs, on a 50+ degree pitch, to where you can sneak around the cliffs and into the bowl.  A couple miles of skiing leads under I-90 and back to the Denny Creek Campground Road.
